Stepstone

Posted by Federico Tomassetti on Friday, 27 August, 2010

I am registered since many years to StepStone (www.StepStone.it), a website to find jobs.

Well, after a lot of time I received an e-mail, suggesting me to apply for job more than 100 Km far away from my home as a Call-center operator with experience (which I have not in that field).

It seems to me that many of those websites perform badly and some others perform awfully.

Dijkstra, please always keep an eye on me

I mean, if 10 years from now, when you are doing something quick and dirty, you suddenly visualize that I am looking over your shoulders and say to yourself “Dijkstra would not have liked this”, well, that would be enough immortality for me.

In the meantime I started working at Politecnico di Torino as Research Assistant.

I am liking it very much.

Git & Thesis & German

Posted by Federico Tomassetti on Wednesday, 13 January, 2010

Today I finished the first draft of my thesis titled “Model-driven development for multi-layer enterprise architectures” (well, it is written in Italian so actually the title is “Model-driven development per architetture software enterprise multi-livello”).

I also started play with EGit, the Eclips plugin for using Git.

And finally I re-started submitting German words in my Mnemosyne. I started with some words from the song 99 Luftballoons. The lyrics from the German version is so much better than the English version. And the last words… cool song.

Things to learn: Scala Parser Combinator

Posted by Federico Tomassetti on Thursday, 31 December, 2009

In the last days I am thinking about mixing different languages. I am also in the process of reviewing a book about DSLs and reading I came across a technology that I really want to learn about but, as always, I am too busy to learn right now (you know the thesis and other stuff to do). So I decided to start using this blog to remind me things that I want to learn as soon as possible. If I fail it will remain a public dishonour for me :D

So I state it here:

Things to learn

Number: 1

Subject: Scala Parser Combinators

Deadline: 31th of January 2010

Let’s see…
